I need a new bass goddamnit..

ENOUGH FREAKIN PIANO TALK.

...ahem... so, i want a new bass goddamnit, and have decided to look past warwick and modulus... and carl thompson... for a second. streetfish was a big advocate of laklands a while back. i searched but only found a few blurbs.

what's the deal here. what's the difference between lakland usa and lakland skyline? are the ones that go for like 665 still nice? or do you have to get one in the 1k range? i was thinking like this:

i was looking into one of those when i was trying to find a new bass, all i know is rhonda smith uses them.

p.s. yay for GSR bringing bass back to other instruments.

Ugliest bridge ever. But they're pretty solid basses. The one I played was a fender copy, albeit alot better than any fender. Liek a really nice p-bass that sounds better, plays better and feels better

id say in terms of just expected overall quality, they are between a warwick and a rockbass....obviously they arent warwick/modulus material, but i think they are slightly above the rockbass....but thats pretty much opinion...warwick is my favorite

i dont think rockbass is very good at all. i think low-end rockbass is beginers, and that the high-end arent really that great either.

how about the more expensive laklands though? streetfish was all up in that schnitzle. and he was good at bass.

a friend of mine has one of the upper-tier laklands and i never hear him complain about it. then again, when he got it, i didnt hear any raves either. i doubt youll like it better than your warwick or modulus (thumb and quantum?) but its all in the player...

Lakland is better then alot of warwicks in terms of construction, fit/finish, etc. Lakland are really good basses.

look at some ritters if you like claypool

What are ritters? I like claypool. I think he might be my favorite bassist now. Then again it might just be a phase of mine. I'd like to make a claypool discussion thread...

huh. interesting. $700 for a 4 string custom? They do look pretty sweet. I dunno, it's risky.
