Whats the hardest dmb song/groove on the drums?

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

Whats the hardest dmb song/groove on the drums?

Unread post by carter29 » Tue Nov 09, 2004 3:48 pm

This is just for fun....any ideas?
I used to think say goodbye, but after seeing the under the table and drumming video it was simplified.
I am leaning towards drive in drive out grooves, seek up's verses
or how bout pay for what you get (if you try to stick to excately what carter does, its just hard to remeber some parts) or even some parts from pig & spoon, just wondering folks

the drumming for Repunzel isnt as hard as you think. Believe me, Im not god...but I can play rapunzel.

Does anyone here even playd dums? (excluding the drummer that started this thread). If you dont, you have no right to say what is hard and what isnt. It is like a spectator at a sporting event calling some athele an idiot because they missed a play. "Have you ever even played the damn game?"

"Well, no. But it cant be that hard"
"shut up you dont know what you are talking about"

If you dont know...then why are you, a non-drummer, telling a drummer what is hard?

PFWYG, that always gave me trouble because I was not familiar with brushes and I just didnt have any feel for them. All I really knew was the basic time pattern (right hand making the circle and the left doing the basic triplet swing pattern. Around the same time I got 'Round About Midnight(Miles) with Philly Joe Jones and he use quite a bit of brushes on there. Anyway, I definitly got into that CD and leanr how to play everything on the CD chop for chop (Never got there, a few tunes still give me some trouble) but I got a feel for brushes and PFWYG came a lot easier. The rest was just memorizing the chops.

jeez beauford kid...calm down. he still has ears. and whether you like it or not, he can state his opinion of whether something is hard to play by the way it sounds.

now what you said would be completely true if he said "PFWYG IS NOT HARD! YOU MUST SUCK AT DRUMS!"

but he didn't...he agreed with him.

Okay, but either way...he is not a drummer. When did you ever go to a bassist for help on guitar? Or drummer for help on guitar? Or Car Salesman for help on guitar?

okay, you're missing the point beau. he can still think. rapunzel and DIDO seem damn near impossible to me, but should my opinion be invalidated because i'm not a drummer?

if someone heard tim reynolds playing a song, stream for example, are they not allowed to say "shit, that sounds hard!" because they don't play guitar?
