My review of the Tascam BT-1 Bass Trainer

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

My review of the Tascam BT-1 Bass Trainer

So I dropped 150 dollars on this thing. And let me tell you, it is pretty much the shit for learning basslines. Tripping Billies, a song I had pretty much struggled with up until this point, I had down pat in 15 minutes. All the way through no issues. What it does is let you pick two specific points on a track and it will just loop them. So say I wanted to learn the Billies verse, just set it on whatever times the verse comes in, say 00:28-00:45 (i just threw those out) It will loop between those two times endlessly. It pretty much forces you to learn it = very fast learning. You can also slow down the track to various amounts without losing pitch, and it also pretty much is able to single out the bassline from the rest of the music so you can see EXACTLY where the notes fit. I could also imagine it helps tremendously with tabs. The only complaint I have is that the interface is a bit clunky. Other then that, this thing is a godsend for learning basslines.

Now where's my fuckin BTCS CD when i need it?
