i think mine is around that. its got a thick neck, which ive gotten used to (and chose to stick with because of how smooth the back of the neck is). i didnt buy one from GC tho, because they have been used without any maintenence for no telling how long. i had them order me one so i was the only one to play it. then i got it set up nice and how i like it.

CARL UPDATE
I just got off the phone with Carl! Bwahhahaha he's so awesome.
I'm pretty sure he hasn't started on my bass yet, but I talked to him for about 15 minutes about bass and coming to visit him. His birthday is on the 5th of February, so he's having a big bash that weekend with all his friends and stuff so he invited us down to see the show and meet everybody and see the shop!! It's gonna be friggin amazing.
He told me the website is going to be getting overhauled with new pics and updates and videos soon, so keep an eye on ctbasses.com! He also told me that he's always had a group of guys working for him, and that he works on 5 or 7 basses at a time, and still has 25 orders lying around. He said he's never said no, unless he doesn't like the attitude of the person on the line. Also, he's working on finishing a line of simple, lightweight CTs that you can buy. They're going to be simple, one wood, with a scroll but it won't be 3D, but they'll still have the tone and carl's style and tone of course. He has one guy who's been doing most of the carving and another guy who does this but Carl still oversees everything and works everyday of the week on his basses, plus is constantly inspecting everything and does the final setup, so they're still 100% CT.

This sunday me, my dad, his gf, and my buddy jimmy from college are heading down to brooklyn to see Carl's shop and go to the Downtown Atlantic for his birthday show! A ton of people and his friends are coming and bringing their basses to take pictures for the website and to jam, so it's going to be a massive bass orgasm. Carl said we can go down early and hang out in the shop if we like, and when we get to the restaurant he'll have a table set up for us for the gig!

EDIT: i'm bringing my camera so i'll have mad pics of the whole trip for you guys soon!

Thanks guys! I'm PSYCHED. I had a thought that maybe Les will be there.. but I'm not getting my hopes up... too high.
http://ctbasses.com updated again yesterday! A 6-string fretless is for sale, and also, Carl posted the first in his "simple" line of basses. It's called the "no frills bass" and has simple features, but retains all of carl's style and quality. Great for someone without the $ or time for a custom job. It still probably went for at least $2500, I'd say maybe 3 grand, as the custom 4 strings are going for $4200 now, with +$750 for each additional string. It's already on it's way to the netherlands for some lucky player!
Trip Irish's 6-string fretless, for sale, Aaron told me it's probably going for $5000.
Carl built this bass over the course of two years. The bass is fretless, set neck with Canary top, Redheart back, Walnut core, Epee fingerboard, Zebrawood cat's eyes, multi-laminate pickup covers (Burled Rosewood). Almost every major component is laced with dyed Hollie veneers in either black or red. Extended tailpiece and bridge finish things off, along with a set of EMG's.

annnd the No Frills Bass. No word yet on how much it went for or anything specific. Someone said it's body is made of spanish cedar though.

BTW, if you haven't been able to see the updates on http://www.ctbasses.com, try visiting http://ctbasses.com instead.
