Large Drumset Layouts

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

i use pretty much everything out there (zildjian, sabian, paiste, wuhan, etc.....) but my fav's are definately the neil peart "paragon" line by sabian. not very good for death metal(what ive mainly been playing the last 4 or so years), but a very versatile line for everything else (especially jazz). the portnoy kit is nice, but ive always been a bigger fan of terry bozzio's setup.

well ya but there's a big difference. mike portnoy uses about 1/3 of his set, because its mainly flashy, terry bozzio uses 110% of his set, because of how he tunes his heads.

I tried to make a pic of my suggestion for your kit, ending up looking excately the way your first pic looked. it was weird haha. add the second splash in the middle aboe your bass drum, crash-ride to your left.
block to upper right of your hats but below the splash, cowbell on the bass drum above your leg, chimes above your hits or far right

the one thing i really like about his set is it doesnt look like a traditional set, but something really creative, and would be fun to play on.

Just bought a tambourine and a 10" splash (with a stack so I didnt need a new stand)

very cool, tambourine can add sucj a musical feel to songs when used right
