So now not only do you not know what you're talking about, but you're telling me that you are contradicting yourself.
Are you talking 'all over the place' as in, large interval leaps from note to note? Then not necessarily. He does in fact use a wide range of notes, anyone with ears can and should know that. If he's still playing chromatics, that's a wide range of notes and yes, that's all over the place. If he plays scale tones 1-7 and 3 chromatics in between...that's all over the place.
"Stop being ignorant."

I consider all over the place as changing keys frequently...It's not hard to play within a key musically. Some people might have trouble technically pulling off fast riffs, but if you're in one key more or less, you aren't all over the place IMO.

guys...relax. "All over the place" not being a real term at all shouldnt be making you guys get all riled up.
Leroi is great, but his stuff isnt THAT hard to figure out-- the hardest times are his solos because he makes extensive use of blue notes, which are a little hard to figure out by ear.
Otherwise, i wouldnt consider him all over the place at all..
mostly because DMB as a band doesnt have songs that shift keys in difficult ways. (Meaning, they do have key shifts, such as in Crush and Jimi Thing.. but hardly ever do the JAMS actually shift keys. I.e. LIOG which stays the same through out its whole)
Blah! stop arguing.

Thank you. It's totally subjective, we're going to have to agree to disagree here.gumbomadness wrote:guys...relax. "All over the place" not being a real term at all shouldnt be making you guys get all riled up.
