Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

I hate these strings though. Yuck yuck yuck. So HIGH TENSION it's not even funny. Hard to play. Need to get some lighter guage strings ASAP.

Agreed. Tell that to Dave though for using light (or is it extra light?) guage acoustic strings :P

I use light acoustic strings, .11's for electric though, cant find anything heavier than that around here though

im looking at buying a beater that i can take to school, i dont wanna take my corvette since its expensive, and there's a high risk of getting stolen. and i also dont want my first bass, which is also the first instrument ive owned. stolen either. are either of these good choices?

Fuck that. You'll miss your wick and hate playing the beater, so you won't play and so you won't practice and then you'll suck even more.

I keep my VJ on a stand in my room. I'm gonna bring down my Q after spring break though, i'm a little tired of the VJ and i'm on a jaco kick lately. Plus the Q is loads lighter.

if there is more than one bassist, make him bring a bass for everyone to play. you bring the warwick, you play it. no one else.

well i dont bring my warwick or any bass at all. i dont play on alot of songs cause the teacher is a moron, we get a new one next year. but i want something to do instead of just sitting there, and if he's using his then i dont have one. and on the days where he just leaves one of his crappy basses somewhere else the teacher gets mad cause there's no bass. but seriously he buys a bunch of basses he has like 6 but all of them are like less then 300$ except one, which is still like only 500

JUST BRING YOUR BASS OH MY GOD. One of my basses practically lives at the school, I've lost it a couple of times but someone returns it to the music room or lost and found. If you're at least half paying attention to your bass, then your fine. Just leave it in the music room or bring it along with you and stop being a pussy.
