nope, not possible.sk8rdude12000 wrote:yea the only electronic drums that are acceptable are the incredibly top of the line ones. the basic electronic ones just dont have anything compared to regular drums. you can notice this most with accents and stuff like that on snare and hi hats IMOMachtimus wrote:they are awful, and don't have the same feel as actual drums.Beauford33 wrote:Do not get electronic drums.
if you dont know anything about drums, or even just very little...you will not be able to play something that sounds awsome. Nothing against you or anyone, but that is just how it is. It takes time to develop a feel or "pocket" where you can get that groove going.i am sam2 wrote:i would love a nice set of drums but there is something about sitting in the front of the drumset that makes me unable to keep a beat or playing anything that sounds remotely decent...maybe im afraid of being too loud because i hate when sucky people play instruments loud, but still...i might be the worst drummer in the history of the universe
haha i didnt mean i cant play anything that sounds awesome...i mean that i cant even play anything that doesnt make you squirm. i cant do the joke thing snare snare crash...i cant do anything in beat...i can keep a beat with my hands, or drummin on my bass, but i just feel uncoordinated behind a drum setBeauford33 wrote:if you dont know anything about drums, or even just very little...you will not be able to play something that sounds awsome. Like I said, it is because you are not familiar with it.i am sam2 wrote:haha i didnt mean i cant play anything that sounds awesome...i mean that i cant even play anything that doesnt make you squirm. i cant do the joke thing snare snare crash...i cant do anything in beat...i can keep a beat with my hands, or drummin on my bass, but i just feel uncoordinated behind a drum setBeauford33 wrote:if you dont know anything about drums, or even just very little...you will not be able to play something that sounds awsome. which is a pain in the ass, not to mention the loss of sound qualityBeauford33 wrote:that is why you wear ear pieces or head phones while you play.i like tictacs wrote:i would love a nice set of v-drums. i dont like playing drums loudly (ie snare, cymbals) , especially with my ears. it's just not a viable option for me.
so really, it's very possible.
You get a piar of those Vic Firth studio head phones Im always talking about...they are comfortable and actually make your drums sound better then they actually are.i like tictacs wrote:which is a pain in the ass, not to mention the loss of sound qualityBeauford33 wrote:that is why you wear ear pieces or head phones while you play.i like tictacs wrote:i would love a nice set of v-drums. i dont like playing drums loudly (ie snare, cymbals) , especially with my ears. it's just not a viable option for me.

electronic drums are not the worst thing in the world.
i hate having to wear them too...but the pair i wear is the drummers old pair...so they arent very good....hes got the vic firth....i like tictacs wrote:Yeah, I have a pair of custom-molded etymotics musicians earplugs...the 150 dollar ones...the sound quality is amazing. no loss whatsoever and great comfort. it's just annoying to always have to put them in when i'm in a band environment with a legit drumkit. the only thing that kills me is the snare. that thing is so bad for anyones ears.
then they arent the ones Im talking about.i am sam2 wrote:i hate having to wear them too...but the pair i wear is the drummers old pair...so they arent very good....hes got the vic firth....i like tictacs wrote:Yeah, I have a pair of custom-molded etymotics musicians earplugs...the 150 dollar ones...the sound quality is amazing. no loss whatsoever and great comfort. it's just annoying to always have to put them in when i'm in a band environment with a legit drumkit. the only thing that kills me is the snare. that thing is so bad for anyones ears.
