My amp sounds like ass.
My amp sounds like ass.
But sounds just the way I want it through headphones, without changing any of the settings on the amp or my bass. The amp's an ampeg BA-115, and I'm using my VJ.
Oh, and interestingly, my little Peavey Micro Bass amp sounds better than I can get my ampeg to sound.

It sounds hollow... and I can't dial in a tone that I like. It's weird. Through my headphones, it sounds perfect, funky slap, farty/poppy highs, growly lows. it's awesome. But with the same exact settings, when i take out the headphones, it sounds hollow, stiff, and boring. It's an ampeg BA-115, and i have it underneath my bed with the speaker facing the wall so i can reach the controls... my dad said it wouldn't matter because it's like a subwoofer, which you can put anywhere i guess? but on TB someone said the BA-115 is rear routed, which means it has to be back against a wall to get a good low end sound. I dunno, maybe i should move it. which would be a huge pain in the ass.

Gervais on Rosa Parks "she was arrested but then that law was changed- but she didnt stop there, she started sitting in the seats saved for disabled people. unbelavable, she talked to the driver when the bus was in motion- did she have the correct change ready? - did she bollox!"

my bass amp sounds like shit when it faces a wall. the thing is with a subwoofer people usually dont care about the tone as much as a bassist who is actually really particular about how he wants something to sound.GSR wrote:It sounds hollow... and I can't dial in a tone that I like.
