Does anybody know what chords are being played for the piano part for the american baby intro?

I always thought that little riff that boyd plucks on big eyed fish would sound neat on a piano

You can figure out the rhythm, and it goes upwards (last D and E are an octave higher than the first D and E). Sounds like shit on the piano though.

For whoever wanted the chords originally, I'm guessing you tried that F# chord and it sounded horrible. That's because the right chord is D/F#.

How you voice the chords on the piano is also going to make a huge difference.
