Review Me! (please?)

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

Review Me! (please?)

Unread post by JazzBassist114 » Fri Nov 19, 2004 10:31 pm

I just spent all of three minutes improvising a cool funk riff. I based it off of my bass teacher's funk riff that he showed me. check it out, and constructively criticize me? please? thanx

Not bad, it has some timing woes here and there that are just minor, and a couple of bad notes, but I don't think you were basing on any scale or trying to follow a pattern.

Overall pretty nice, it's got some groove, but doesnt stray from the main pattern too much which does get repetitive.

yeah, it was a first try, and just about completely improvised, so some timing is off, and a few wrong notes thrown in, but i wasn't really on any scale...i messed around with pentatonic and major, and threw in some chromatics for good measure, but it was just messin around... thanx
