actually it's kind of the opposite. It's to hear the whole band clearly. That's why Steffan hates IEM's because he can't really hear himself, or more accuratly he can't feel the music. That's why he uses such huge stacks, so that he can feel the bass. But anyways, on stage when you are performing you are so loud that it's really quite impossible to hear the whole band as one sound, so IEM's are more like what you would hear through a soundboard mixer. It's an interesting substitute to floor monitors, but I think you lose a lot of the feel of the music.i like tictacs wrote:in ear monitor, it helps whoever is wearing one to hear their instrument loudly and clearly over the others. =tabbing gold
