I think trey has the nicest electric guitar sound(and mike gordan has the nicest bass sound). Treys actually playing an archtop guitar, eventhough it looks more like semi-acoustic electric guitar. He also plays through vintage 1X12 fender tube amps. I have an article that has all of his setup, including effects.
As far as playing like him, cant help you there-

i'm trying to learn to play like him...but his guitar has such a smooth suond...it's a double cutaway, much like the Strat and PRS Hollowbody..not archtop.

Yea its a double cutaway, but it is actually an archtop. Its not like a dot, PRS hollowbody, or anything on the inside. Its a really cool interesting design-
