I recently bought an slightly used Gibson Chet Atkins SST and an unbelievable price from Guitar Center. Anyway I'm kinda new with pickups, but has anyone upgraded their chet wit a new Fishman? And does it make a slight or huge difference in sound (worth buying)?

When I bought my chet the pickups had already been changed out. I like the new pickups. But don't change the pickups out because you think it'll make the guitar sound like Dave Matthews. That sound is as much in his fingers as it is in the upgraded pickups. Try to play another guitar with the new pickups in it and see if you like the sound. If you do, then upgrade! If you don't, then stick with what you've got.

I'd say "do it" then. You can't go wrong putting a great acoustic pickup in a great acoustic guitar. I'd still advise you to try it out first if you can.

It is calssified as an Electric whereever you look. I may be wrong but it is an electric guitar. I mean, it does need electronics for it to work

Yes, it is an electric guitar.. but it sounds more like an acoustic than an electric.. atleast in my opinion
