Advice on new guitar
I am looking to buy a new acoustic'eletric cutaway guitar and dont want to spend more than 600$. I was looking a Gretch Historic collection guitar, but to be honest don't knwo that much about the materials amd what makes for a better sound, i have been told rosewood is good for the money, but would like opinions on what others thought would be good for around 5 or 6 hundred bucks. Any feedback is appreciated.

if you need a new guitar id say get a cheap alvarez and save up for something better. (Taylor)

for that price range you'll be sacrificing quality for electronics/cutaway. I don't know if the Gretsch your looking at is used but my advice is to look for something used. I don't know much about the Gretsch your speaking of but I do dig their hollowbody electrics. The White Falcon is awesome, that would set you back 3-4000$ though.

For that range I would reccomend buying a used Larrivee and getting a LR Baggs Element system installed. While Larrivee's tone is not my cup of tea (most of the time..I have played some real nice ones) they do make a heck of a guitar for the money. You might be able to find a low end one on ebay or http://www.gbase.com . The element can be bought and installed for udner $100.
good luck!
