heavy...i think for most things i do, the heavier they are, the better it sounds (though i haven't tried anything above a 12, but i want to)

I think 12's sound the best, if you go really heavy the guitar kinda sounds stiff too me.

i thought 12's were lights! you got a long way to go before that opinion holds any water. 14's are like crazy.

i used to do mediums but i really like the lights right now. they are more diverse and if you have a good guitar they are boomy enough and yet you can do all sorts of tricks like bass bends and all.

extra lights bend too much IMO - mediums are a bit heavy for my taste - i play lights, but its all a personal preference, as well as what BRAND lights - i play d-addario :D but we wo'nt get into that...

I play d'addario mediums.. i was thinking of getting heavies, but i'd probably have to get my guitar re-setup for that.. since martins are mediums when they come stock from the factory

sadly, the strings i'm hooked on only go up to 12's for my acoustic so that's as heavy as i can go, maybe someday i'll get some balls and change it up

I'll be the outcast so far, X-Lights all the way for me ;-) I don't mind up to Mediums, but I will RARELY play anything higher than that. I've used X-Lights for a while now, and they've grown on me ;-)
