id really like to get a Boss DD5 or DD6 for when i build a pedal board. only get the DD6 if you feel you need the tap tempo.

i would get the dd6 instead. i have the dd3, its cool and all, but the features of the dd6 are worth the extra dough, like that reverse mode :)

DigiTech sucks donkey balls. Go for the gusto man, get the DD-6. I have the DD-5 and so wish I had gotten the 6. Boss is where it's at for effects, EXCEPT for the RC-20. That is a piece of dung. They could have done so much more with that pedal, I don't feel it lives up to the Boss name. So I got the Line 6 DL4 and couldn't be happier....what would I need to loop more than 14/28 seconds.....err, sorry, get a little side tracked when I talk about effects. :) Yes, DD-6.

i think a lot of companies are pretty focused. like Boss has a bunch of good pedals, especially for the money, but hardly the best of everything. digital delays stomp, yes. loop stations, no. the headrush is great at both. try TC electronics for a chorus and ernie ball makes a volume pedal much better than boss. voodoo labs has great vibe pedals and morley makes great wah pedals. just try a bunch.

it's all about mixing it up and finding your sound. lately, my favorite has been using a Boss acoustic simulator as both a compressor and an eq so that when i turn it on it sounds more acoustic, but switch it off and my guitar is louder and ready for solos, then back on for chords and strumming. even riffs that involve the pedal on and off.

also i want an H20 chorus really bad. maybe a birthday present to myself? we'll see.

So how's that acoustic simulator work for ya? You like it? I've never really tried one yet I am intrigued. What happens if you use it with an acoustic guitar instead of an electric? Is it instantaneous, or is there a slight pause before it kicks in?

i actually use it for the acoustic. there is a pause but it's hardly noticable. you learn to hit the pedal and time it right. it's like that darn delay. took me weeks to get looping to work right.

i does even out the tone and it sounds much more acoustic. like i said, it gives some compression and eqing to fatten the tone. and when i switch it off, the volume increases and it goes back to the piezo and you get much more electric feel out of it. it is fun. try one at a GC or something, then go buy one off ebay if you like.
