Whats up dudes i am looking to buy a new guitar at some point in the near future and i was looking for suggestions. I am only in the $4-$500 range and i know that isnt going to get me anything unbelievable, but seeing as how i am paying my way through school , its all i got, any suggestions by u more seasoned musicians would be a great help.

I would recommend talking to Xoosh (see his stickied post at the top about getting cheap Martins...or others, it sounds.) Bang for your buck, he sounds like something to at least consider.

Other than that, just go to a guitar center or your local shop and play a couple in your range, a couple slightly above your price range, and a couple below. Thats really your best bet. Personally, I would stay away from electronics at this range, unless you find something used.

When I was looking for my guitar a couple sellers told me to stay away from the 500-800 dollar Martins and that you are better off just getting a Sigma (martin brand still). Apparetnly Martin only came out with the DX(s) just so they could compete with other low range brands. ----But when all said and done if you got a Martin I would not call it a bad mistake. Just shop around!

If you can, go play a Dean Exotica QSE SP. I don't think there is a better guitar than it for under $700 or $800..........In my opinion, its one of the best values your going to find. As for the sound, check it yourself and be amazed its comming out of a $450-500 guitar. There isnt a guitar that looks nicer than it for under a grand either.
