amps and pick-ups

Unread post by docjones » Tue Jan 27, 2004 8:51 pm

whats up everyone...ive been doing a lot of research on both amps and pick-up for my acoustic Ibanez...my budget at the moment is about 60 for the pick-up and 200 for the amp. i was just hoping if anyone could give me their opinion of what they use or if ya'll could help me out in anyway...i would most likely be playing in coffeehouses or small restaurants...thanks everyone!!

for amps, take a look at your budget, how many watts you want, and what features you want. You may have to adjust your budget accordingly.

For pickups.... $60 is pretty low. I myself enjoy my B-Band AST+A1 combo ($95 here). However, there were a few pickups announced at NAMM a few weeks ago that apparently look really good. I think the one that made the biggest waves was the L.R. Baggs M1 (link here), which is a soundhole pickup.
