Taylor 110 compared to...?

Unread post by PlayLikeDave » Sat Jan 17, 2004 10:08 pm

Other low end Taylors (200 & 300 series). I was at the local guitar center, and I thought, what the hell...I am king of cheap guitars, why not play the Taylor 110. It sounded really good. Then I was like, well let me play this 214. It didn't play as well, and the same for the 314 that I tried (or a 310, not sure).

Why did the 110 sound better? Is Taylor ripping people off? I need some clarity if anyone can help...

peace
I love you oh so well, like a kid loves candy and fresh snow.

Ok... I know what it is... Taylor is ripping people off, no guitar should cost that much! But I'm a dumbass that would buy one if I had the money. Now... to your question... I have played just about everyone of the Taylor's at the nearest guitar center where I'm located, and I have to say that I really like the 314ce. It's still a little out of my price range. I really liked the 214 that you metnioned, and I was really close to buying it earlier this year. To me, it sounded better than the 110. Then I played the 314CE LTP Maple back and sides and fell in love. So I think it's just how you play to make one guitar sound better than the next one. I like the 110, but I want something that has pickup in it. Now I find out that they have one, oh well. I don't think I claified anything for you, but I feel better now, hehe, but I do hope I was a little help with this crossroad you came across.

And to reitirate(sp), Taylor is trying to rip people off, hehe.

yeah. some people love one guitar, others hate it, etc. it's all up to your personal preference. every guitar has it's own unique sort of sound, and at my guitar store, i loved the sound of my 414 (miss the old bastard!) over the 914 they had there, so it varies from store to store, guitar to guitar. :)

isaac, when are you gonna get it back? i dont know how long i would last without mine.

and for the original question, different people like different things. if it sounds better to you and plays better to you then it might just be the right guitar for you. play everything and choose what you like best.
