Friendly Warning: Do not buy a New Taylor before NAMM.

Unread post by Oahu » Mon Jan 05, 2004 2:25 am

They're coming out with some neat new stuff, including some limiteds from what I hear, and those always have a higher resale. You wouldn't want to buy a sweet new Taylor and find out something newer you would have liked better is coming out in a few days.

Also remember that Early in production you can add custom features to limited guitars. So if you want a special inlay, wider or slimmer neck, or some exotic wood, call your Taylor dealer later this month and order that shiznit.

Friendly advice from a Taylor fanatic.

About to purchase a 2003 Taylor 410RCE and Im really not worried that something amazing is gonna come out that will make me regret getting that guitar for $1200. I doubt Id be able to get a 2004 Taylor acoustic electric with rosewood and the es system so Ill just stick with my purchase.

Sometimes newer isn't better. Remember when Taylor changed from the Cindy Inlays to the Moustache? It was an uglier inlay no doubt. That's why they did the 900 limited this year. I bet Dave would agree.

Besides, guitars get better with age. I'd say that 800 will be "unique"

not to mention some people prefer the sound of the pre-NT necks over the NT necks. and some people like the look of the smiley bridges more.
