Can you keep your pedals out?

My room gets kinda cold like 60's and they feel all cold and I was wondering if maybe that was bad for them?

proaly not if theyree all just mostly metal and plastic

but its defitnley bad for your guitars

i dont know if is bad for them or not, but i keep mine in the boxes they came in, but thats just because i try to stay organized

i keep mine in a pedal board i made out of an old suitcase. my room is 72 (like normal temperature) and it's never a big deal.

i can't imagine any reason your situation could be a problem, except, if you take the cold dry pedals into a high humidity room, water vapor might condense on them and cause a short or something. but this idea seems so far fetched to me...

how exactly did you make that pedalboard? Coz I'd love to also make one as I can't afford to buy a real one. Can you post a pic and perhaps even tell me how you did it?

no pic but i can give you a quick description of what i did.

what you need:

suitcase
clasp 
rubber screw on stoppers
1/2" wood board
industrial velcro (go to lowes or some similar big hardware store)
foam

go to goodwill and buy a small suitcase. like a breifcase size, maybe a bit thicker to fit the pedals. it should be at least 3-4 inches thick on the inside.

then you take off the hinge and replace it with a clasp from the hardware store. now you can take the two halves apart. use the top half (the one with shorter sides) as the base of the pedal board, so the top of the suitcase is the bottom of the pedal board. take a peice of 1/2" plyboard or there about and cut it to match the pedal board. cover it in the loop side of the velcro. you should be able to find big sheets of this stuff. screw the rubber feet through the suitcase and into the velcro covered peice of wood. then stick some of the hook velcro on you pedals and stick them on to the board.

for added security you can put foam in the other side of the case and that will hold the pedlas from moving when the "top" is on.

yeah with little patch cables! exactly as if it were on the floor regular style. for power supply i am just using a TU-2 with the piggy-back to power other pedals.

the whole project can be attempted in about 2 hours, if you live close to home depot and guitar center.

it is about ten times easier than you probably think it is. and it is in an old suitcase so it is supposed to look "retro" so it's ok if it isn't centered right or whatever. (of course mine is centered and perfect but i'm just saying it is ok to make little mistakes, it is really hard to screw this up)
