iam getting i fender standard telecaster mexican made one. I was wondering what eveyone thought of them? how well are they built? And are they built better then strats?

teles have a different pickup configuration than strats, not better, but different. you cant really compare them.

im not a fender man myself. especially not mexican made.

what kind of music do you want to play? if you want the clean sound ONLY then strats are the way to go... unless some strats have humbuckers now.

you can get nice mexican tele's. they aren't as consistant as american ones, but i played an american standard side by side with a mexican tele, half the price, and it was better in every aspect.

much more than the mexican made guitar

i would save it though, mexican strats or teles are no good, they NEVER stay in tune and they sound pretty bad coming out of an amp

I got an idea. You live on Pennsylvania right? Drive up to Canada and go to a shop there. Its like 75% there. Great deals. I always buy stuff up there since I am there so often
