Dave's acoustic pickup

Unread post by The Man of The Hour » Sun Dec 22, 2002 3:09 am

Curious, what kind of pickup does dave use? I'm sure he uses a couple different ones. I am looking to buy one for my acoustic, sadly you can't try them all out, as you can guitars. Any suggestions?

Definitely get a Sans Amp. i dont know much about them but i know that they are external (and go after the pickup)... the like SUPER boost your pickup's acoustic sound to make your guitar sound super better... dave and tim used these a lot and probably still do. As for the pickup... im quite happy with the fishman matrix 2 or whatever.

the only pickup I would ever use again is an L.R. Baggs I-Beam...

they're slowly but surely making a big splash...elderly instruments I believe is the biggest acoustic guitar dealer in the country and they all endorse that pickup over anything by a landslide...

The LLC book says they (dave and tim) used Fishman Gold Natural 2's on the tour.

does the i-beam work with a 12-string? i have a friend that wants to put a pickup in his 12-string and he's looking for a good one.

it's not really on the web site since they don't sell it anymore, but you can go <a href="http://www.pro-music-news.com/html/03/e ... m">here</a>. it's basically the same page that martin used to have up.
