i am looking into $300-600 12-string guitars. right now alvarez is a the top my list (the AJ60SC-12 maple jumbo or the mahogany dreadnought MD8012). anyone own these? anything else i should look at and any other advice regarding 12-strings? i am looking for a solid-wood 12-string guitar to strum on and have fun with, not really for gigging, though being able to plug in is a plus. advice would be appreciated.

For Washburns, the D46SCE12 is really nice and its around $700 or non-acoustic/electric for around $500 and the D10S 12 is a little cheaper but still a pretty nice guitar for around $300.

Fatjack has an Alvarez 12 string, I believe.
Talk to him, he's pro-alvarezist.

Tak's are good mid range 12 strings.
i've never played an alvarez...aparently they are great too.

"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."
