Fender American Strat Special Edition

I have the oportunity to buy a 2001 fender american strat special edition for a VERY good deal from a buddy. He's needs money desperately so he is selling it problem is he lives 500 miles away from me so i can't play it and he needs to know soon if i want to buy it.

So has anyone ever played one or have any opinions on this guitar. Maple neck, alder body

play something similar and see if you like it?

you can just try out any american strat at a local store
shoould be pretty much the same
the one youre talking about has a light colored neck, not the darker mahogeny (you proally already know that)
