What strings?
I've just wanted to know what kind of stings you use..
I've got the Martin SP extra light and I think they're good...

They talk about it in this thread...
As for me, I think I have tried different ones every time. The last time I changed the strings on my guitar was sometime around April!!! Its a looooooong story, but I think I need some right away... I have only heard praise about Elixir Polywebs I believe... not sure, whatever ones use less coating

I have been using Polywebs for quite a while, and I am still impressed by them! I just bought a new Taylor (310ceL2) that came with a light set of Nanowebs, and I must say, I am also very impressed by their sound. I will probably go back to the Polywebs once it is time to change strings, though. They are a little on the more expensive side, but I have found a great place to get them. Check it out (they also have other strings!):

After going through about a dozen brands, those are by far the best sounding electric strings I have ever used. For acoustic I use Martin SP's, but i haven't shopped around much.Ranting Thespian wrote:I will say it forever

As for sizes, you have to go with mediums. I don't even know why they sell extra lights. They sound like crap and its impossible to keep them in tune, especially when you tune down. If you want to sound more professional, I think mediums are the first step in that direction.
I've done all types of strings... I was hooked on Nanowebs for a while (when I was re-imbursed for strings for a job), but I'm not that impressed with them anymore. They break just as much the other strings I've used. So now, I've settles into D'Addario Phosphor-Bronze 13's (the red pack). I used to go thicker, but this feels just about right to me. The nanowebs were nice, but didn't really warrant the mark-up to me. Plus I like the grip that the D'Addarios give.
