yesterday i was at a friends house and i got to play a really awesome guitar. i've never gone there before but my friend always told me that she her dad has a really awesome martin six-string and a taylor twelve string, but he never plays them anymore.
so i go over there to help her with college applications and she ask me if i wanted to play the guitar, i of course said yes.
well what does she come back into the room with? an HD-35! its strings were dead but i played the crap out of it. but here is the real icing on the cake. it is over 50 years old! and 1950's Martin and i was playing it! i stopped playing it immediately afterwards because i thought about how much it was probably worth
so then i play the taylor twelve string, i'm pretty sure it was a 600 model and it had a grand auditorium style body. it sounded freakin awesome despite the fact the it was missing a string and they strings were real old. it too looked very old, so i figured it was valuable too
the moral of the story? i love martin and taylors, but i doubt i'll ever buy one, just too darn expensive
