ive looked at a lot of guitars... fender, esp, ibanez, gibson (which unfortunately are a bit out of my price range), and a couple that arent very well known (carvin and godin).. im trying to find one thats really good for the price.. fenders are good except they arent good for stuff like metallica because of the single coils... esps i just dont really like.. anyone have any ideas?

I'm a straight up strat guy, I've been borrowing my friends les paul for awhile and comparing to my SRV strat and in my opinion the strat just kills it...I play a Fender Blues Jr. amp so that's what I compared on...

My DELUXE (my advice would be for something like this);

http://www.gibson.com/products/gibson/L ... eluxe.html

(the wine red one 8) )

It cost me $1,800, but money well spent (you can play any type of song and add any type of effect to it, and this guitar still stays at the top of the barrel)

STRATS are too bland...you can adventure more with a GIBSON!

I have a 2 grand strat and a 2 grand les paul in my living room right now, my strat kills it, but I play more blues and jazz with it, and it's just better for that.
