It's me.....AGAIN!!!! I've finally decide to go with a low end Martin acoustic but now I'm stuck again, mostly beween a DX1, DX1R, DM or a D1. The feature that I'm most interested in is an adjustable truss rod because the main reason I'm wanting a new guitar is for a much lower action that my old POS washburn. HELP??????? LAST QUESTION I PROMISE!!!!!!

The DX1 and DX1R are virtually the same guitar, with the only difference being the pattern on the HPL (mahogany vs. rosewood). It's not real wood anyway, so it doesn't matter; a personal preference really.

The DM and D1 are both made out of mostly wood materials. They also run about $300 - $400 more than the DX1. I think you need to set your price cap. If you want to stay around $400, the DX1 is really your only choice. If you can afford $700 - $800 try out the D1 or DM to see which you like best.

Again, I really like the DX1, for the money. There are a few covers in the Recording forum that I did with it. Check them out.

Action on all Martins can probably be adjusted to some degree, although it's more than likely done at the saddle and should be done by a luthier unless you really know what you're doing...

BTW, avoid the DXM models. They have a laminate top versus the solid wood on the DX1 and higher end models.

uhhh I wanted the DM, but endend up paying about 50 bucks more to get the SOLID wood (no laminates like the DM's top) D-15 for around 600 bucks out the door. See what price you can get on that.
