Amp Settings

Unread post by Mr. Corn » Fri Jul 18, 2003 6:27 pm

Is there some sort of standard setting on an amp to get a bluesy sound, rock sound, etc. I've been playing around with my electric and am just curious about what settings on the amp make the best sounds. It's a small amp with basic High, Mid, and Low knobs and a Mater and Gain 1 and Gain 2. I've fiddled around with it but I was just curious about what the usual standard (if there is one) is.

if you want a good bluesy punch, turn up the bass and turn down the treble, but be careful to not do it too much, your guitar may end up sounding like its playing in mud...

do you have a tube amp or solid state? These settings will work best on tube amps...

for a really round, clean bluesy sound try this...

master: 2-3/10

bass: 7/10

mid: 4/10

treble: 8/10

for a more rocking sound that has some drive (great for lead...) and really cuts, try this...

master: 4-6/10

bass: 4/10

mid: 8/10

treble: 5/10
