Tuner stripped

Unread post by jaroben » Thu Jan 01, 2009 2:17 am

So my open "G" string started buzzing (g string jokes aside) and i later found out, after i needed to change my strings, that the screw on the peg of the "G" string was loose. I tried tightening it, but it keeps spinning. I took apart the whole tuner, but can't really see down into the threading. It's probably stripped. Do I need a whole new tuner, or set of tuners? Or is there some kind of maintenance that can be done? It tightens when I take out the washer, but without the washer, it'll just keep getting loose anyway.

I posted my guitar with pictures a long while ago. link below.

in the third picture down, you can see what part i'm explaining that keeps spinning, but it's the next picture with the tuners w/ stars. inside the tuner for the "g" string there's threading that is stripped.
