Refretting a strat (just one fret)
So some drunk fuckhead at a bar knocked my guitar over last weekend and I need to either repair or replace the 3rd fret. (Landed on the corner of a table and the b string literally dug right into the fret and left a huge gouge) Has anyone done this kind of repair work on a fender strat? Do you know where to buy replacement frets? Any suggestions on how to actually do it or where to have it done? Thanks.
"call me the big cactus...cause just like a cactus i stick it to em"

Yeah I don't have any advice on that.. Man.. I would have lost it though on that drunk idiot if they damaged my strat.
Its like... getting two birds stoned at once. (Ricky-trailor park boys).

I dont think it's terribly difficult. I would go through these videos here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tka_BQ_t ... re=related
After looking at those, if you think you're capable I would say go to stewmac.com for supplies and more guides and go from there. One thing I would suggest though is if you've had the guitar for a while and you play out often you might just want to get the whole guitar refretted just to keep it consistent.
