When creating Modal progressions, do you use the same formula for the major and minor scales to know which chords are major, minor, and diminished?
I'm referring to the Maj,min,Maj,Maj,Min,Min,Dim thing.
If so, how would you know which to start on?
Example: A Dorian: A,B,C,D,E,F#,G - which ones are maj,min,dim?
Thanks!

Re: Modal Progression Question
What I do is look at every other note to get the 1, 3 (or b3), 5 (or b5) intervals needed to form a chord. Starting at the A in that scale, you'd get A, C, and E, which gives you an Am chord. Starting with B gives you B D F# - a Bm chord. etc.
