That guitar will probably never be seen in Dave's hands again. After it cut out at Mansfield he never touched it again.

Yeah but he gets the same sound from his Taylor with an effect that he got from the Reso. I think he ditched it.

Re: Daves guitar radio city cornbread
When he plays Cornbread he uses his Taylor. And that's clearly not a standard acoustic sound coming from it. So he's got some effect on it to get the sound that he got from the Reso.
Re: Daves guitar radio city cornbread
Um, maybe I'm dense and don't play electric almost ever, but I'd never heard of a resonator effect, so I googled it. Yeah, I see that there are some... but why would Dave go to that trouble? It would have to come from the booth or soundboard and he wouldn't be able to control it. Hell, would it even sound ok? And by "ok" I mean would it stand up to the high standards of a very popular professional musician WITH amplification? Not to be a dick, but I think the simpler solution would be for him to just use the resolectric (or a similar guitar) to get that effect. Who knows, maybe I'm dead wrong. Anyone else have info on this?

A talented FOH engineer can control effects from the board quite well. Most of Dave's vocal effects, iirc, are controlled at FOH. It is likely not the best way, and I personally would rather have my FOH guy concentrating on the overall mix, but in a song like Cornbread where the effect doesn't change much, maybe it is controlled from the board. I don't particularly see the benefit, especially in an environment like the ones dmb plays in.
