Guitar Tune Up/ Maintenance

Unread post by kdz111 » Wed Nov 14, 2007 3:25 pm

Hi,
I was told that I should take my guitar to the shop every year or so to get routine maintenance and a general tune up. What should I ask for when I go in/ or what should I have done I have had my guitar for almost 2 years now and this is the first time I' am having it done. Thanks

thats all you need to tell them. that should cover the action, intonation and possible truss rod adjustment if needed. big thing to keep in mind too is what kind of tuning you normally use. for example, if your one of those people who tunes a half or full step down, that would be something to tell the tech before they set up your guitar in standard tuning. it makes a difference
