i went to a local guitar store today and saw one of these, it was priced at $931. is that a good price for this guitar? i played it and liked it but its still a little out of my price range.

my price range is about $400 - $800. what would yall recommend in this range?

i think thats a good price seeing as how the list price is over $1600. id save up a little more and get that one. solid rosewood b/s and a solid spruce top. it doesnt really get better than that for the price range.

I posted about this guitar awhile back. It is a great guitar, excellent value and sounds sweet. Just awesome. I would defintley save up several hundred more dollars if you can. You will not be disappointed plus it is an investment that you will use for your entire life.

So would you suggest saving up more money for this guitar, or buying a LR Baggs Para DI and a Digitech RPx400 to go along with my Taylor Big Baby with B-Band Ast/A1?

I've thought about this a long time and still can't make up my mind. Someone please do it for me!

I have a D16RGT that I bought from Elderly.com a few months ago for $888. Very nice guitar, I love the warm rosewood sound...one of the best values out there imho. I did a lot of research before buying and this is the best price I found at the time. Hope this helps.

Great guitar, but I had the same feeling. I found it for $899 on sale, but still did not feel like paying that much. What I did do, since I wanted a Martin and also wanted a mahogany guitar was buy the DM. For $599 I got a fantastic Martin for sound and playability. If you want rosewood, look for the DR.

i checked out the specs on the DR. what is the difference between laminated rosewood (DR) and solid east indian rosewood (D16-RGT)?

Anything that is laminated is pretty much "fake" wood, like plyboard (not that bad, but you get the idea). Some guitars have solid and laminated wood (like solid tops and laminated back and sides, etc..). It is always better to go with solid wood for a guitar (depending on sound, of course).

if you dont mind me asking, about how much did you pay for it?

i was at guitar center and played a bunch of guitars and only found one that was as good or better sounding (imo) and that was the DC16RGTE (which is too far out of my price range). i dont think i want electronics anyway.
