i bought this guitar off ebay. it was made in 2000. the low e string will buzz when fretted at the 2nd fret. it only happens when strumming hard/fast. i have 6 days to return the guitar, but i really don't want too. the tuner seems to be screwed on tight and there is no buzzing higher up the neck. any suggestions?

just get the action reset, a little string buzz is not a problem.
Could also be from the pressure and climate change due to shipping. If you are in a dry part of the country and bought it from a humid part (or visa versa) it will warp a little before it becomes acclimated to your neck of the woods.
Just let it chill in your room on a stand (not in a case) for a day or two and try it again. If that doesnt work get the action raised or shave a little off the top of the bridge

This may be the issue, however, if that same type of strum does not cause buzzing at the first or third fret, you may need something tweaked. Take it to a shop and have them look at it.chris murphy wrote:i bought this guitar off ebay. it was made in 2000. the low e string will buzz when fretted at the 2nd fret. it only happens when strumming hard/fast. i have 6 days to return the guitar, but i really don't want too. the tuner seems to be screwed on tight and there is no buzzing higher up the neck. any suggestions?
Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?
