I Bought the LR Baggs MI Active, but....

Unread post by sozomenos » Tue Jun 26, 2007 8:45 pm

...should I get the The Para Acoustic D.I.? Sounds like it helps find the right tonal balance for one's guitar. My Martin HD28V sounds a bit "woody" or mid-rangy with the MI. Is it the guitar, the pickup, or a lack of an EQ that might be found in the The Para Acoustic D.I.?

Appreciate the input.

You don't necessarily need the DI but it will give you tonal control. The M1 does have a strong midrange but it is adjustable. You can adjust the height of the poles below the strings to achieve the right tone.
Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

I really appreciate your input. Do you know what tone is achieved by lowering the poles? Or raising them? I guess I could experiment, but maybe you could save me some time in the process.

Thanks again,
Jack

raising a pole under the string will make that string louder, lowering makes it quieter.

Check out the manual for specifics on how to do it.
