How Much $$$ Do You Think I Could Get For...

Unread post by jsgksu » Wed Jun 11, 2003 6:54 am

Im kinda of thinking of selling my 1996 50th Anniversary Japanese Three Color Sunburst Fender Jaguar. It has one minor noticeable scratch in it that I think could be touched up and other than that just has normal, minimal ordinary wear on it. I dont know if Id actually sell it but I havent played it in years and if I could get a nice chunk of money out of it to get a nice acoustic Id think about it. I dont know how to go about pricing it so can anyone give me an accurate estimate on what I could get out of it. Thanks.

I just looked on ebay and they seem to be oging for around $500 but they still have 2-4 days left before the auction ends. While I was looking, I saw all these pics of guitars that look just like mine and I realized how beautiful this guitar is but if I could get $600 plus out of this thing that would be half of what I need for the guitar I want and thats hard to pass up. So, does anyone think that $600+ would be what I could expect from this guitar? I noticed that all the ones on ebay said "crafted in Japan" on the back of the fretboard while mine says "made in Japan" is it just because theyre different years or do those two things mean anything? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

judging by the ebay auction price and the listed price in vintage guitar price guide ($550 in excellent condition), i dont think youll be able to get much more than $600 for it. it depends on how much you play it/want to keep it. if it were me, id hold on to it

I most likely will hold on to it, but I never play it and I really want to get a nice acoustic so I was thinking about it. So I guess if I get desperate Ill think about it, probably not though.

Do an "Advanced Search" on eBay and check the "Completed Items only" checkbox to find out the final bids on auctions. It looks like around $600 is about right...

Since I have the same question, I thought I would just use this thread again. I am most likely going to trade in my 2002 Epiphone Les Paul Classic Blue Quilt Top Limited Edition w/ gig bag(list $999, purchased for $399), my 2002 Marshall MG30dfx (list $349, purchased for $250), an 2002 MXR Phase 90 w/ 9V adapter (list $150, purchased $110), and a 2002 Boss DS-1 w/ 9V adapter (list $120, purchased for $60). All this equipment was bought BRAND NEW in December of 2002. I plan on trading all this in towards a 310 or a 310ce. What does everybody think they will give me as credit towards a 310/ce????
