Recently I became very serious about purchasing a DM3MD and found several for sale (you have to hunt for them). For one in excellent to mint condition it will run $5,500 (low end) to upwards of $6,500. You can get them cheaper but most will have some sort of minor damage. And if you are paying over twice what the retail value of the guitar new (only several years ago) you should not accept any damage.
After alot of thought, I came to the conclusion that the DM3MD is seriously overpriced.....a great guitar, but way overpriced. You are approching a custom built guitar by some name luthiers at that price.
I would wait until the market drives the price of these down (and it will, believe me).

Don't be jealous. I'm thinking that Martin will probably come out with another Dave Guitar. I know Eric Clapton has like five and Jimmy Buffet has two or three. That's ofcourse, if Taylor doesn't make one first. The "Dave Matthews Taylor Baritone" ooooohhh

"Thank you everybody so much again for tonight. We hope you had a good time with us. We're kind of relaxed and y'all hopefully y'all relaxed too. This is beautiful humidity. We enjoy it and everybody take care of yourselfs. Muaha..." DM

Well there was a rumor flying around quite a few months ago that Dave was in the process of designing his second one; don't know if it was hard or if it ever materialized or whatever.Ricky the Pilot wrote:Hey Now!jsgksu wrote:I know theres a flying bastard around here that ones one of these guitars.
