diff b/n acoustic amp and active PA speaker?

what sort of audible difference will i notice when i put my vocals and guitar through a PA speaker versus an acoustic guitar amp (like a fender)? i have been going the latter route for a while but recently considered switching it out for a big black PA speaker for practice and performing purposes.

just depends on the size and quality of the speaker. Also im assuming that your one amp is handeling your guitar and your vocals and is sitting on the ground. It will sound better through a PA speaker.
