Best acoustic amp?

Unread post by mattahews » Mon Jun 02, 2003 2:24 am

Looking for acoustic amps. I don't know whether to go with the routine fender, or try any other brands. I'm looking at a $450 price range. Any suggestions?

if you want a good earthy sounding acoustic amp definitely check out SWR's Strawberry Blonde and California Blonde. i have the strawberry and it sounds awesome.

Don't stop there. Do a thorough search of these boards because I do remember Tico ( believe it was him) being very adamant about a particular brand that he said was the ultimate in acoustic amps...and it was a good price as well. A brand I had not heard of before. I think you had to get in online...not quite sure.

Good Luck!

fender makes good acoustic amps too.

Tico is an Ultrasound advocate...and if he were here, he'd point you to http://www.samusic.com to check out Ultrasound amps at some great prices.

i just bought the smaller peavey acoustic amp and its done well, great reverb and some other effects are nice. plenty of sound and you can always mic up. good balance. it has noticably less noise than a couple fender's i tried. a solid amp, no problems with distortion. not long ago, we ran 2 guitars through it and vocals through the PA for a little outside party and the amp packed more than enough juice to stand alone. and that was when i became a believer in it. haven't looked back. great amp.
