Alright, for Christmas, I'm getting myself a new amp. My suspicion is my current amp is pretty much busted, since my guitar tends to just sort of randomly come and go on it, and I used two different cords on it. My current amp is a GX15R Crate Electric Amp, in case it has any relevance. Anyway, regardless, I'm getting myself a new amp and guitar for Christmas. The guitar I'm not worried about, since I've been wanting one for a while now, the amp is my only worry. This is since I know next to nothing about amps.
The amp in question is the Behringer V-Tone GMX110 Combo Amp. The specs for it are:
- Analog modeling
- 30W power
- 10" Jensen speaker
- 2 channels
- 27 modeled sounds
- 24-bit effects processor with chorus, flanging, phasing, rotary, auto-wah, echo, delay, compressor, and combinations
- FXT function
- Dynamizer signal enhancement circuitry
- Tuner
- MIDI control
- 16-3/4"W x 15-3/4"H x 8-1/2"D
- 24-1/4 lbs.
Now, my question is, if anyone has any experience with this amp, or perhaps even Behringer in general that can give me an opinion. The cost that I'm getting the amp for is about $149.99, so I'm really just sort of curious. I'm not expecting anything spectacular for the price, but at least something alright. Any advice would be grateful.

Almost all of the Behringer products I've used have been garbage, hence why they're so cheap. I currently play through a Marshall AS50R, it's not too much more expensive, and I absolutely love it. I've also heard very good things about the Roland AC-60, but that's a tad more (closer to $500). Anyhoo, go to a music store, bring the guitar, and just play through a bunch until you find one you like.
Except the Behringer.

Why are you recommending acoustic amps when he's talking about electric ones?TimmyJ4140 wrote:Almost all of the Behringer products I've used have been garbage, hence why they're so cheap. Anyway, I've not had experience with it, but I have a friend who got a relatively inexpensive Behringer and likes it. I think his was tube and not modeling.
I'd HIGHLY recommend trying to get a tube amp over a modeling amp. Especially for an amp that cheap, the models and effects probably sound like trash.
