no their not. the electric half of the sound is pretty much worthless imo and the acoustic isnt as great as that kind of money can get you.

i'm not really into the hybrid sound of the T5. I'd rather have a nice acoustic and a nice electric. i think having both kind of compromises on the sound.

what is it about the t-5 that interestes you?

for the price, there better stage guitars.

well i have a 714ce and i love it. and i guess i fell in love with taylors on my first product, i dont know much about "musicians gear". could i get a good electric guitar for around 300 dollars? one good enough to play shows with or how much would it cost me? and what guitar. I really enjoy bright tones like my guitar.

I don't really hate the T5 sound but I would buy a good les paul or something as an electric before I got the T5. It does play well and it sounds differnt, and you can get one for like $1500.

agreed. I would get a decent Les Paul, or an SG. then pick up an Epi Chet just for fun.
then you;'d have your good acoustic, good electric, and just for sahits and gioggles you got your thinbody a/e

I also agree with these guys.

I never liked 2 in 1 stuff... You just get 1 thing with 2 medium quality features...

it depends what syle of music you are playing. I believe les pauls are some of the most versatile guitars out there. they sound great playing just about any genre.
I prefer the SG sound, but that's me.

the gibson les pauls dont skimp on craftsmanship and there are a million ad ons you can throw on one.

tonation on electrics is adjustable, so you really got to find a guitar you liek playing. i dont find les pauls all that playable for me. they are heavy and just dont fit me well, but i also hate taylors polayability.

tell us what you are going to play and it might be easier to make a recomendation./

SGs tend to complimented distortion and metal pedals more. If you're aiming for a more focused metal/hard rock/punk/hardcore/screamo/et cetera sound, look into the SGs.

Les Pauls also do a very good job with these styles, but are a lot stronger in the other ones. In this sense, they are versatile, but shouldn't necessarily be purchased if your main focus is going to be directed to the mentioned styles. Les Pauls hold their ground in pretty much any music genre and are a favorite amongst the rock genres, plays great as a jazz guitar, and pretty much everything inbetween and out of the mentioned boundaries.
