PA sound quality
Hey everyone. I currently just plug my guitar through my mixer and run it through my speakers. The guitar sound is fine, but im pretty sure it can be better. Soooooooo....I was looking for something to make my guitar sound better and clearer. Ive heard a few things (ex. chorus pedal) but dont know exactly what i should be looking for or what any of these do. I know i could just ask the people at guitar center, but they ususally put me on the spot and id like to do some price resarch first. If you guys can help me out with anything that would be appreciated. Or if anythign else, share what you guys that play through your own PA's, run through your guitars. THanks
Micah

im not sure if youre talking about effects or just processors in general, but i run mine through my floor board (boss dd6, ds1, and morely wah) and then to my amp. for my acoustic i always use my rane equalizer. if youre playing acoustic and you want to improve your sound you should really try to get your hands on one of these: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/control ... sku=134868
you could also look at compressors and tube preamps.. the sky is the limit with this stuff really, it depends on how much you want to spend
if you have any questions pm me because i usually dont read these forums.
good luck!

ok let me elaborate, you want more than just an equalizer and the para acoustic di boosts your signal, has a lovely notch filter, and most importanty converts your signal from an unbalanced 1/4 to a balanced XLR, perfect for PA systems.
The Aura is an awesome machine, but its not really perfect for live performance. It has such a subtle effect on your sound, it would probably be lost in the quality of the PA anyway. The Aura is a dream for recording because of all the nuancey shit it does to your sound, but its not worth 300 live.
I cant give you a technical reason why the para di is better than the bbe sonic maximizer, but i will say that i have tried both and read reviews on both and the para is much better recieved and is also 40 bucks cheaper.

Tim Reynolds has been using an Aura at his live acoustic shows recently. I have yet to get my hands on any recordings, but I have heard rave reviews from many people that have attended the shows.
I do maintain that the "average" listener would not be able to tell the difference between you play with or without the Aura.
