2006 Taylor Fall Edition Models???

Unread post by DMB FireInvestigator » Thu Jul 27, 2006 9:13 am

Was on Sweetwater.com and they listed a 914ce 2006 Fall Limited Edition but no pics. Anyone have any sneak peaks as to this years releases?

i'll email my buiddy that works at the factory. but odds are he'll just tell me about it and not have a pic.

found this online, not sure if its what you're rtefering to:

"The 910CE-LTD and 914CE-LTD both highlight the wild beauty of Mexican cocobolo, pairing the dazzling figured tonewood with a creamy Engelmann spruce top, a combination that allows the 900 Series Fall Limiteds to give voice to an extreme range of tone—vibrant highs, a clear, wide-open midrange and solid, muscular bass frequencies."

You cannot order the LTDs this year without the cutaway. Every model will have it. You cen special order it with no ES, but their is no option to take away the cutaway. I wanted an 810 (madagascar RW) but I can't stand the look of cutaways on dreads.

i've said it before, and i dont expect you or too many others to agree, but if i'm buying a martin there is no way I will want a cutaway. it just wouldnt be a martin anymore, and if i order a taylor i better get a cutaway, or it just wouldnt feel liek a taylor.

A cutaway on an "auditorium" sized guitar seems perfect, but a cutaway on a dread just doesn't seem right.

Yeah, I sometimes wish I would have got the 4414cd ltd instead, but I love the guitar and its nice having the cutaway, I dont think it takes away from the dread really at all. The only reason I sometimes wish it was a 14 body is because I wanna get a Martin non-cutaway some day and that way Id have a nice dred and a nice aud.

The Taylor X14ce and Martin dread make for a great combo. I now have a 314ce Limited and an HD-35 and I couldn't be happier.
