Hey all, Im looking for a way to record my live shows. My amp has an XLR output that im assuming can be used for something like this. I dont want one that recordes onto a tape deck, I want something that will store it on a small hard drive or something. Anyone know of someting cheap that is a basic unit? thanks..

Personally i have used this tascam
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=241106
and it worked pretty well, it can record in stereo so one mic on the vocals, one for guitar.
Otherwise if you have a laptop i would use an mbox so that you have ultimate control of the sound after the show, you can make it sound really good. Fix flubs, at subtle effects etc. All the big guys dress up their live releases, why shouldnt we?

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

First of all, thanks for the replies...
I will be playing solo (for now) and I have a Peavey Eacoustic 112 amp. I love everything about it besides the tweeter hum. Anyway, that Tascam looks awesome and just what I need, but I dont know if Ill have the funds to get anything like that soon.
I have an iRiver iHP-140 mp3 player. I know this can record, but I never though of trying it out. Im assuming that 40 gigs would be enough for a show. Im going to need a XLR --> 1/4 jack before I can try that.
thanks for all the great ideas and keep them coming.
