Volume pedal + Wah
What do you think is the best pedal for volume and Wah? Morley's?
I've never tried one, and I'm not sure volume+wah is a nice thing to have. I believe so, since Tim had one once.
Any suggesttions?
Thanks guys.

the Ernie Ball (don't know the exact model #, bought mine from a friend) volume pedal is the best by far. It is effective, simple, and a very solid design.
As far as wah pedals, I can't offer you personal advice b/c my only wah pedal is on a multi-effects processor. I have heard good things about the Dunlop Crybaby though.
If you're interested in getting Tim's sound, he uses a volume+delay pretty often. You can hear this in LALC in almost every song. I would recommend either the Line 6 DL-4 or the Boss DD-6, both are outstanding pedals. I own the DD-6 but have played the DL-4 often to know that it lives up to Line 6's name. I'm not sure which Tim uses.

How much are you looking to spend on the wah? I was given a Dunlop Crybaby (standard), but I wanna upgrade. Maybe to a Fulltone Clyde... I like Vox better than Dunlop. Budda wahs are supposed to be great, as well as Teese (expensive).

Thanks a lot!
If he's North of the city, have your friend check out Gand Music in Northfield. They're very friendly, and IMO are much more passionate about the stuff they sell than any GC guys.

My idea was not to buy two separate pedals... so my options are:praisedave wrote:ernie ball viper is the one i have and its nice, you could kill someone with itif you hit em in the head, its huge and all brushed aluminum
1. Simple volume pedal: Ernie Ball ($90 - 150)
2. Wah/Volume pedal: Morley (~$80)
3. Distortion/Wah/Volume pedal: Morley (~100)
I checked the prices at musicians friend.
I think 2. is the best option. What do you guys think?
Further, my friend is not probably going to be able to buy it in Chicago, so I'm thinking about other friend I've in Houston... (Yeah, there are Portuguese all over the US!). Is it better to find a local store there, or just to buy online and send the pedal to his address?

That one looks cool. Ive never used a wah pedal, just an ernie ball volume pedal, which i love. But i guess if you can have both go for it. Also, dont get the one with distortion in it. Get a separate pedal for that, like a boss, much better sound and control.

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

The first wah pedal I used was a Morley Bad Horsey II. While I really liked how it was switchless (you activate the pedal by using it, and when you stop using it, it's deactivated), it was very muddy sounding. It was also ginormous.sfmartins wrote:Any particular reason?shane wrote:I don't like Morley...
Is there any good alternative for a Wah/Volume pedal?

But since Tim used a Morley Wah/Volume, it might sound good. Does any one have one?
At least, I liked the usual stuff Tim did with it in DDTW...

i have a morely wah, not with volume
i love the thing, it works amazingly and is indestructable
do not get the morely with distortion, ive heard bad things about it
and i wouldnt suggest getting the switchless morelys either, i dont really like them and you cant leave them on without having your foot on it
if you have the money i would suggest getting separate wah and volume pedals
ernie ball makes great stuff, as well, but ive never used their wah or volume pedals
