I don't know about you guys, but that new 12 string Dave is playing has really won me over and I really want to play one. Not only are those Veillette Gryphons expensive, but its preatty hard to find one unless you live in the New York area. Anyway, I emailed gruhn guitars about them ordering one and if they had ever seen something like that before. They replied and said they had a Tacome Papoose P112 at the store and that it was similar. It's preatty much the same thing except it is tuned to high A instead of D (Like capo 5th fret instead of 10th fret like the gryphon tuning.). Anyway, if any of you are interested in trying something out like Dave's new guitar, the Tacoma would be close to the Veillette and probably be readily available at a lot of guitar shops. If you're in the new york area, check out some stores and go check a Veillette out for the rest of us and tell us what you think. Here's a pic of the Tacoma and a link from musiciansfriend...

Naw, I like the higher tunned. I was messing around with the Tacoma at gruhn guitars in Nashville and I was playing the stone on it and I had like 5 ppl. walk up to me like "what is that thing, it's so cool". I had a lot of fun on it, I'm going to have to save up some money, very mandolinish but still has some balls.
